Cheeseburger Salad

All the flavour of a cheeseburger but with less calories and carbs. This cheeseburger salad packs lots of protein and vegetables for a satisfying meal that is filling and tasty while supporting your goals at the gym.



Ingredients:


½ cup extra lean ground beef

⅓ cup light shredded cheese (or dairy-free "cheese")

2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce

¼ cup grape tomatoes, quartered

2 tbsp diced red onion

2 tbsp Primal Kitchen Special Sauce, or other burger sauce of your choice

¼ tsp each of salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika

Optional -  bread and butter pickles & banana peppers


Instructions:


  1. In a pan over medium heat add the beef and spices. Saute breaking up the meat and mixing to evenly distribute the spices. Cook until the meat is fully browned and cooked through. Turn off the heat.

  2. If you want to melt the cheese you can sprinkle it over the meat before removing from the pan.

  3. In a bowl, add the shredded lettuce and then top with the meat, cheese, tomatoes, onions, pickles and banana peppers. Drizzle with the sauce and enjoy!
